Remembering in prayer the victims of last night’s fatal plane and helicopter crash

January 30, 2025

To all NACPA Members, Friends and Supporters,

Let us remember today in prayer all those who lost their lives in the fatal air crash last night and the family and friends who will forever mourn their loved ones. The plane from Wichita, Kansas carrying 64 people and a helicopter with three people on board, collided around 9 p.m. ET at Reagan National Airport, Washington D.C.

While this tragedy touches everyone across the country, our association has a special connection to the beautiful state of Kansas, site of our 53rd convocation last year. That gathering brought us together with so many wonderful Kansans in the Archdiocese of Kansas City, in Kansas, and the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.

May the dear Lord bless all those whose lives are forever changed by this tragedy and we pray especially for those who were lost last night.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Today, a prayer vigil will be held at the Wichita City Council Chambers located at Wichita City Hall at 12pm, local time (1 PM ET).

If you would like to take part, they will be sharing the broadcast via their YouTube account, which  you can access by clicking this video link.
