NACPA Board Member Appointed Auxiliary Bishop

Dear NACPA Members and Friends:

I am thrilled to announce that Father Lawrence J. Sullivan, Archdiocesan Director of Catholic Cemeteries, Archdiocese of Chicago has been appointed as the new auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Father Larry is a longtime NACPA Member and is currently serving on the NACPA Board of Directors. This is a momentous occasion for both Father Larry and NACPA community.

Please join me in congratulating Father Larry on this well-deserved honor and in celebrating this milestone in his journey serving the church. We are truly fortunate to have a bishop as a board member, marking a significant first for NACPA (I believe).

Appointment of auxiliary bishops of Chicago, U.S.A.

The Holy Father has appointed the following as auxiliary bishops of the Archdiocese of Chicago, United States of America: the Reverend Timothy J. O’Malley, of the clergy of the same metropolitan archdiocese, until now parish priest of Most Blessed Trinity in Waukegan, assigning him the titular see of Numida; the Reverend Lawrence J. Sullivan, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, until now parish priest of Christ the King in Chicago, assigning him the titular see of Lamfua; the Reverend José Maria Garcia Maldonado, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, until now parish priest of San José Sanchez del Rio in Chicago, assigning him the titular see of Fallaba; the Reverend Robert Fedek, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, until now personal secretary to the archbishop, assigning him the titular see of Dardano; and the Reverend John S. Siemianowski, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, until now parish priest of Saint Juliana in Chicago, assigning him the titular see of Gratianopolis.
