Piano Accompanist - St. Nicholas and St. William Parish St. Nicholas and St. William Parish is looking for a Piano Accompanist to accompany Cantors and Choirs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  (other duties may be assigned)  Normal Work Schedule:  Selected Saturday and/or Sunday Masses at either St. Nicholas or St. William church sites throughout the year. Support seasonal liturgical services, such as Easter Triduum and Christmas.

Piano Accompanist 1. Work in collaboration with cantors, instrumentalists, and choirs on the music selected for the service.  2. Rehearse the music selected on piano until proficient. 3. Come at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the service to practice with the cantor, choir, or instrumentalists. 4.  Foster a welcoming environment for congregational participation through strong collaboration with cantors and choirs.

QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill ability, or physical demands required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Education and Experience: • At least 2 years experience as a musician familiar with the Roman Catholic Liturgy.  • Demonstrated ability to sight read and play music at a high level on the piano. • Proficiency in accompanying a cantor or choir with the piano. • Collaborate effectively with other instrumentalists. • Ability to play the organ in addition to the piano is preferred, but not required. • Must read, write and speak English.
