Middle School Science Teacher – Most Holy Trinity School, San Jose
Most Holy Trinity School, A Drexel School, in San Jose is looking for a full-time Middle School Science Teacher.
Candidates must be dedicated to providing students an excellent 21st century education where students learn foundational skills as well as how to gather, evaluate and apply information in their everyday lives. We are looking for energetic, passionate and committed staff members who truly want to make a difference in the lives of students and uphold the mission of the school and be part of this rewarding ministry of Catholic education in the Diocese of San Jose.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Partnership in developing a faith-filled Catholic environment.
Experience in creating instruction supporting the new NGSS Science Standards.
Collaborate with other faculty members in developing units using the California Common Core Standards.
Develops and implements project-based, hands-on learning experiences at the junior high level.
Experience integrating technology into the academic curriculum routinely.
Motivates students and seeks to foster their critical thinking skills.
Avid communicator to their students, parent community and faculty members.
Demonstrates strong classroom management skills for students from grades 5th– 8th grade.
Enjoys working with students with a range of abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A valid CA teaching credential is required.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Jr. High students, especially having an understanding of their developmental stages, and designing lessons using hands-on activities in Science.
- Have a strong work ethic and a passion for exploring Science.
This position includes staff duties, including recess and lunch, as well as other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the school administration.
