The Archdiocese of Cincinnati seeks a forward-looking change agent with a penchant for curiosity and adventure. The ideal candidate is a strong, collaborative leader who understands how to acquire, create and present beautiful, compelling content. This person will have the opportunity to reimagine and transform The Catholic Telegraph, with its nearly 190 years of brand equity, into a multi-platform communication engine to better engage today’s Catholics. The new Catholic Telegraph will educate, inspire, and create a sense of community that welcomes Catholics and ignites in them a passion for living and sharing their Catholic faith.

The qualified candidate will be tasked with reimagining The Catholic Telegraph to more effectively engage today’s Catholics, and lead the implementation of the new vision. This will include collaborating with relevant subject matter experts, setting the editorial and creative direction, creating (with help from Finance) the business case, and developing (with help from Human Resources) the right staffing and outsourcing plan.

The Editorial Director should possess the following qualifications: A practicing Catholic in good standing with comprehensive knowledge of the Catholic Church, including structure and doctrine; passion for the Catholic faith; knowledgeable about the teaching and history of the Catholic Church; at least 10 years’ experience in the publishing industry, with at least 5 years’ of editorial experience; familiar with all publishing software and applications; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
