POSITION TITLE: Cook
POSITION SUMMARY: The Cook will be responsible for everything relating to meal preparations including grocery shopping, meal/menu planning, and preparations and clean up. These duties are performed for all regular meals, special events, holidays, and parties and entertaining. May be required to work up to 15 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: (other duties as assigned)
• Weekly grocery shopping
• Inventory, purchase and store all groceries
• Cooking and serving nightly dinners twice per week
• Prepare and serve all meals including setting-up and cleaning-up
• Prepare and cook for small dinner parties twice per week including setting-up and cleaning-up
Education and/or Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the culinary and catering industry with a strong interpersonal and etiquette skills.
Language Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English. Ability to converse with individuals of various ethnic backgrounds.
Computational Skills: Ability to read and manage a budget; Ability to compare various prices, costs and expenses of supplies and services. Employee must be able to adjust amounts and costs in accordance with the numbers to be accommodated. Other Requirements: This employee must have a basic understanding of the Catholic Church and the role of the hierarchy. A major requirement of this position is flexibility in schedule including nights and weekends.
