The Diocese of Gary has an excellent career opportunity for a Communications Director. This position manages communications, both printed and digital, in the Diocese of Gary, including the management of public information, media relations, and diocesan publications. Responsibilities also include developing a comprehensive communications plan for the diocese, working closely with the Bishop and editorial board to implement the spirit of the Synod through the creative development of resources, programs and other communication strategies.
The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic in good standing, havea minimum of five years’ experience in public relations and communications and possess strong team leadership skills. This person will also be an excellent communicator with the ability to work well with pastors, staff, parishioners and administrative boards. Proficiency in the use of technology and software including Word, Excel, InDesign and other media formats is required.
